Celebrated gospel musician Uncle Ato has described Gobe as a nutritious meal.
The musician indicated that the gari and beans combination is not only nutritious but a saviour for people.
Describing the meal as his favourite, Uncle Ato first stated that gari is an amazing food and prayed and blessed the one who invented it.
He made the statement during an interview with Sokoohemaa Kukua on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM’s mid-morning show.
He was telling how a woman who sold the meal always asked him to sing for her before she went on daily sales, and how the singing helped the woman sell more.
After singing, the woman would give him some of the meal, which has since become one of his favourites.
”When I was younger, I remember this woman who sold gobe, and before she went out to sell, she would send for me to come and sing for her. The understanding was that whenever I sang for her, she would sell more and on time. And she always feeds me after I sing. Gobe is a special meal. It has assisted in saving lives. I always say that God bless the person who discovered gari. Gari is a lifesaver. Its combination with beans is unique. Aside from that, gari and beans are a nutritious meal. The gari provides carbohydrates, whereas the beans provide protein. So it’s a special meal, especially when you add an egg,” he said.
