Ghanaian veteran coach J.E. Sarpong has referred to the senior national team, the Black Stars, as a dead team.
It was in response to the question of whether he would coach the senior team if asked to.
He was speaking to Rainbow Sports about the challenges the national team faces.
”I do not coach a dead team. The Black Stars team is bedevilled with challenges, and I don’t like associating with a team that faces challenges.
J.E Sarpong was concerned that officials had allowed the team to deteriorate to the point where we would be unable to qualify for the African Games.
When asked to evaluate Coach Otto Addo’s performance, he refused, saying, “I will refrain from commenting on anything about Otto Addo.”
He emphasised the importance of officials implementing a strategy to help revive the team and restore it to its former glory days.
