The Ghana Police Service has arrested the general manager of Elmina Sharks, Kelvin Aboagye, in connection with an attack on a referee during a Division One football match.
The match was between Elmina Sharks and Swedru All Blacks.
The incident occurred on February 16, 2025, at the Nduom Sports Stadium in Elmina, Central Region, after the game had ended.
The police revealed that Kelvin Aboagye, along with other individuals, allegedly assaulted the referee and some supporters after the match.
The suspect is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
The police added that it is currently in search of the other suspects who allegedly participated in the unlawful act.
