Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has denied allegations that he authorised payments to former Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong for a government contract.
The minister denied the allegations in a tweet on X, formerly Twitter, on February 23, 2025.
He insisted that no payments have been made to contractors since he took office.
“Since I took office, no contractor—including Kennedy Agyapong—has been paid a pesewa,” Dr. Forson stated.
“We are currently conducting a comprehensive review of all contracts and payment requests to verify their legitimacy.”
Dr. Forson has therefore advised the Ghanaian public to disregard any claims suggesting he had approved such payments.
“Please disregard any claims suggesting that I have authorized payment to Kennedy Ohene Agyapong or any other contractor.”
