Swiss Ambassador to Ghana, Benin, and Togo, Her Excellency Ambassador Simone Giger, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, paid a courtesy call on Dr. Mary Awusi, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority.
The meeting, held at the Authority’s headquarters in Accra, aimed to foster fruitful discussions about future collaborations.
The Ambassador commended the remarkable work of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, which has successfully attracted and supported several Swiss companies operating in Ghana. She applauded the Authority for its seamless aftercare services and one-stop-shop operations, which have contributed to the smooth operation of Swiss companies under the Free Zones scheme.
Dr. Awusi, in her remarks, commended the Ambassador for her efforts in attracting Swiss companies to Ghana and promoting Ghana as a business-friendly destination for export-orientated investments.
She also mentioned that job creation is a priority for the government, with policies such as the 24-hour economy serving as a catalyst to achieve this goal. She noted that collaborations with the Swiss Embassy are therefore timely to promote trade and investment for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
Ambassador Giger was supported by Ms. Charlotte Esenam Afudego, Private Sector Development & Trade Specialist at the Embassy of Switzerland in Ghana. The Authority’s team included Mrs. Patience Agbleze Acorlor, Director of Corporate Affairs & Public Relations; Mr. Alhassan Ziblim, Director of Administration; and Ms. Anita Novi Quashie, Director of Marketing and Investment Promotion.
