Deputy Minister-Designate for Food and Agriculture, John Setor Dumelo, has stated that it is the will of God for him to ascend to the presidential seat someday; then so be it.
The Ayawaso West MP was responding to a question asked him by Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin on whether he had presidential ambition.
The question was asked of the nominee in response to a question about his regional roots mentioning the Greater Accra, Central, Ashanti, and Oti regions.
The minority leader indicated that from the responses given by the nominee, it shows he had a presidential ambition.
He then advised him not to run away from that reality because come 2028 there would be a vacancy for a presidential candidate for the NDC since President John Dramani Mahama will no longer be eligible to contest.
Mr. Dumelo, in his response, said, ”Mr. Chairman, there are so many seniors ahead of me…If it is the will of God, everyone who enters politics aspires to mostly get to the top. If it is the will of God for me to get to the top in 2058 or 2064, I will wait’’.
