The Ghana Football Association has announced March 7, 2025, as the date for the resumption of the Premier League across the country.
The Ghana Premier League will resume with Matchday 23 on the weekend of Friday, March 7, to Monday, March 10, 2025, the FA said.
This comes after a month-long break in the league following the death of Kotoko football fan, Poorly, who was allegedly stabbed during a game between Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC.
According to the FA, the resumption is subject to the safety and security assurance inspection of all venues currently being undertaken by the GFA and the Ministry for Sports and Recreation.
The GFA stated that the league is resuming after widespread engagement with all relevant stakeholders.
The Association also announced that outstanding Premier League fixtures for Matchday 20, 21, and 22 have also been announced by the Football Association.
The fixtures for Matchday 20 have been fixed for Tuesday, March 18, to Thursday, March 20; Matchday 21 will take place across approved venues on Tuesday, April 1, to Thursday, April 3; with Matchday 22 fixtures slated for Tuesday, April 15, to Thursday, April 17, 2025.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko is expected to play against Sekondi Eleven Wise in an outstanding MTN FA Cup match on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
The FA called for the full cooperation of all relevant stakeholders, including the Ghana Police Service, in maintaining safety and security at all match venues as we look forward to an exciting continuation of the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League season.
