Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin says the youth of Ghana now refer to President John Dramani Mahama as ‘Mahama Baako, Terminations Bebree.’
He was responding to the State of the Nation Address (SONA) delivered by the president today, Thursday, February 27, 2025.
The Effutu Member of Parliament expressed disappointment in the President and his administration for dismissing Ghanaian workers for political reasons.
He said for a leader who slammed the previous administration over unemployment, it is contradictory for him to be dismissing workers after being in office for less than 100 days.
Speaking on the floor of Parliament after President Mahama’s State of the Nation Address, he said “he is telling us today that we have 2.2million youths unemployed but what he has forgotten is that in his administration, in less than 100 days all we know is sack them, and dismissals, On the streets of Accra today, the youth of the country are saying Mahama baako termination bebree”.
He advised him to stop lamenting and focus on the challenges he had packaged and presented to parliament, stating that it was his duty as president to address the country’s challenges.
