The Traders Advocacy Group Ghana (TAGG) has expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for his “prudent and forward-looking” budget statement.
A statement issued by the group said the budget statement presented on March 11, 2025, demonstrates a clear commitment to sustainable economic growth, social equity, and infrastructure development.
They expressed their support for the decision by the government to abolish the E-Levy, betting tax, and other levies.
“We are particularly encouraged by the budget’s focus on VAT issues… and attempts to help small enterprises, such as the establishment of a women’s bank, and responsible fiscal management,” the statement read.
It further commended the government for allocating resources for the education sector, the free distribution of sanitary pads, among others.
It added “We think that the future of Ghanaian enterprises will be more prosperous as a result of these critical initiatives,” TAGG stated.
