President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Yaw Ampofo Ankrah as the Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA).
Mr. Ampofo Ankrah is currently the president of the Ghana Beach Soccer Association, a seasoned sports journalist with several years of experience.
He is known for his commitment to sports development and is expected to leverage his expertise in his new position.
Mr. Ampofo Ankrah will be working closely with Sports and Recreation Minister, Kofi Adams, to develop, organise, promote, and manage competitive and social sports.
The two are expected to focus on promoting health, fitness, recreation, national cohesion, and professionalism, ultimately driving sustainable wealth creation and infrastructure development.
The new NSA Director will also be required to implement innovative strategies to promote sports development in Ghana. His experience in the sports industry, combined with his journalistic expertise, will undoubtedly serve him well in this endeavour.
