Head coach of Premier League club Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum, says the reason why his side could not win against FC Samartex was due to the tense atmosphere.
His side drew against the defending champions at Samreboi.
Kotoko’s goal was scored by Kwame Opoku, which represented his sixth goal in seven GPL appearances since returning to the Porcupine Warriors.
The coach after the game opined that the high level of tension surrounding the game affected the players’ goal-scoring technique.
Two of his players, Dauda Saaka and Isaac Mintah, missed their chances in securing victory for the team.
Dr Ogum, in his response, stated that “I’m not happy about it because if you look at both chances, I think they were chances that, if you look at their (Mintah and Saaka’s) level, their pedigree, they should have scored, but then if you look at the game, it was a tense game, and normally when players become tense, sometimes their technique execution is also affected.
