The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has referred its former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, to the party’s Disciplinary Committee for disregarding a directive issued by General Secretary Justine Kodua Frimpong.
Following her recent public comments in the media, the party issued a directive admonishing party members to desist from discussing matters in the media that could bring disaffection for the NPP.
She had, among other remarks, revealed how former President Akufo-Addo asked her to shelve an audit report that uncovered rot at the school feeding programme.
Following the revelation and other sensitive matters she raised, the party’s chief scribe issued a directive advising members to desist from making further comments in the media or be sanctioned.
She however granted another interview with the Pulse on Joy News where she also made some remarks.
The party has since referred her to the disciplinary committee for disciplinary action to be taken against her.
The statement said as a former Minsiter, Deputy Majority Leader she ought to have set good example after the directive was issued.
“In breach of the above provision of the party’s constitution and directives issued earlier, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo is hereby referred to the National Disciplinary Committee of the party for further action.”
