Minority Leader is accusing President John Dramani Mahama of being on a mission to collapse Ghanaian businesses.
The Effutu Member of Parliament said the current administration has no plans for job creation, support for fisherfolk and farmers, and private sector development.
Contributing to the debate on the 2025 budget statement, the private legal practitioner opined that it has shifted its attention to persecuting political opponents and dismissing public sector employees. Instead of creating jobs as it promised during the 2024 campaign.
Afenyo-Markin declared that it is very clear that the current administration is only interested in propaganda politics with no clear plans for the people of Ghana.
“They came into government with no clear plans to create jobs. They came into office with no clear plans for the fisher folks of our country. They came into government with no clear plans for the farmers of our country. They only came to persecute, arrest political opponents and deny them their basic fundamental human rights.
“It is clear that this government came into being to kill private sector initiatives. It’s the reason why they are unable to tell us a single initiative for the private sector. What is the work of the Trade Minister? They say they have an advisor for the 24-hour economy. What is his work?”
