The Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, is set to travel abroad for further medical treatment.
A statement issued by the Presidency disclosed that the urgent treatment has become necessary following a sudden illness that required urgent care at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
The statement indicated that the vice president fell ill after work on Friday, March 28, and was treated at UGMC on Saturday.
Medical experts have recommended additional specialised care overseas to ensure her full recovery, the statement said.
Meanwhile, Felix Kwakye Ofosu (MP), spokesperson to the president and minister for government communications, has assured the public that the vice president’s condition is being managed with the best available expertise.
