Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams has pledged the full cooperation of the ministry and that of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) to investigate the tragic death of Nigerian boxer Gabriel Oluwasegun Olanrewaju.
A statement issued by the Sports Ministry consoled the bereaved family and extended the condolence to them, describing the late boxer as talented and passionate about his craft.
He stated that the ministry and the GBA will work alongside all relevant authorities to ensure a thorough probe into the incident.
“Gabriel, a promising athlete who displayed exceptional talent, passion, and courage in the ring, passed away under unfortunate circumstances,”
“We deeply empathise with the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBBC), the entire Nigerian boxing fraternity, and the global boxing community over this irreplaceable loss,” he said.
