The value of mobile money transactions in the country dropped to GHC 316 billion in February 2025, down from GHC 333 billion recorded in January.
This was captured in the Bank of Ghana’s Summary of Economic and Financial Data for March 2025.
In contrast, the transaction value increased to GHC 334.8 billion in December 2024.
Throughout last year, the value of mobile money transactions increased consistently, the report said.
The report explained that the number of transactions declined to 698 million in February 2025, compared to 726 million in January. This followed a peak of 745 million transactions in December 2024.
However, when compared year-over-year, the number of transactions has seen a significant increase, rising from 609 million in February 2024 to 698 million in February 2025.
