Ghana and Huawei strengthen ties in digitalisation and renewable energy

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), and the Head of the Business Environment Department of Huawei Technologies (Ghana) S.A. Limited, Ms. Julia Qiu Ye, have held discussions on deepening relations between Ghana and Huawei.

The meeting was held on Monday, April 7, 2025, and focused on digitalisation and renewable energy solutions.

In her remarks Ms. Julia Qui Ye lauded Huawei’s fruitful partnership with the Government of Ghana and hoped that the mutually beneficial partnership would be further strengthen.

She further pledged Huawei’s commitment to further deepening relations with the country.

“Our collaborative efforts in digital transformation have yielded remarkable results, and we are committed to driving further advancements that will benefit Ghana,” she indicated.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP) applauded the remarkable achievements of the cooperation between Ghana and Huawei over the years for collaborations in digitalizing the public sector.

He also indicated that in line with the Governments agenda on resetting the energy sector, the company could provide solutions for the efficient implementation of renewable energy.

The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to advancing bilateral relations.

It is also expected that the meeting and the conclusions will improve the welfare of the people of Ghana through enhanced digital infrastructure and innovative renewable energy projects.
