The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations has announced that registration for the ONE Million Coders Programme has started.
Interested individuals are to register through an online platform (https://onemillioncoders.gov.gh).
The locations for the training are Accra, Kumasi, Sunyani and Bolgatanga.
Courses available are Certified Cyber Security Professional, Certified Network Support Technician (CNST), Data Analyst Associate, and Certified Data Protection Supervisor.
The rest are Certified Data Protection Practitioner (CDPP), Certified Data Protection Practitioner and Certified Data Protection Officer.
This is in fulfilment of the campaign promise by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the 2024 campaign.
The government had allocated Ghc100 million for the implementation of the project.
The initiative forms part of the party’s plan to bridge the digital gap among Ghanaian youth.
President John Dramani Mahama, during the 2024 campaign, explained that the party shall train one million coding professionals in in-demand digital skills for the growing business process outsourcing (BPO) and knowledge process outsourcing ecosystems, ensuring no one is left behind in the digital revolution.
