Chairman of the United Kingdom Chapter of the New Patriotic Party Kingsley Adumattah Agyapong, otherwise known as Wofa K, has stated that there is an attempt by the ruling government to cover up the allegations of illicit drug and money laundering activities.
He stated that the Assin South Member of Parliament, Rev. Ntim Fordjour, provided details about his allegations, and it was important for the government to look into it and not antagonise or intimidate him.
The Assin South MP alleged that two aircraft, including an AirMed jet, may have been used in transporting cocaine and money.
Wofa K claimed that the credibility of the investigation had already been undermined by government spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
“The information or explanation provided by Felix Kwakye Ofosu was false. He released questionable videos and photos of the planes. Rev. Fordjour had done due diligence and provided details into the matter, and it was important for the government to prove the matter. But whatever Kwakye Ofosu provided in his comments is false,” he said on ‘As it is in Ghana’, on Rainbow Radio 92.4FM, UK, and Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Ghana.
He added, “Rev. Ntim is not a criminal. He is a Member of Parliament and a Ranking Member on the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament. He has parliamentary privileges and cannot just arrest him. You have to go through procedure and write to the Speaker so that he would be allowed to honour any form of invitation. Why do you have to use Rambo-style and send masked armed men to his residence to arrest him? If the government wants him to support the investigation, he has to be invited.”
