Member of Parliament for Domeabra-Obom constituency Isaac Awuku Yibor has assured traditional leaders, opinion leaders, and constituents that he will deliver on his campaign promises.
He has therefore asked them to continue to pray and support him to bring that needed transformation to the constituency.
He disclosed that poor roads, unemployment, access to water, the unavailability of a hospital, and lack of electricity in some communities were some of the issues he sought to address.
Appearing on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Isaac Awuku Yibor said being elected as the MP for the constituency was not just an honour but an opportunity to serve.
‘’I want to extend my gratitude to the traditional leaders, religious leaders, and constituents for supporting me. I am pledging to work and deliver on my promises. I will do my best to ensure that the constituency is transformed. I am aware that there are poor roads in the area. I also know that we do not have a secondary school, and we do not have any major hospital. Unemployment is also a challenge we have. So I want you to pray for me that aside from the law-making duties in parliament, I will do my best to bring transformation in all the 13 wards in the constituency,’’ he stated.
He told host Kwabena Agyapong that more than 100 communities in the constituency have yet to be connected to the national grid.
He stated that he has begun to reshape some of the deplorable roads.
‘’Aside from the poor roads we have, we have a water crisis. We have managed to drill some boreholes in some of the communities to provide water for the residents living there through the support of philanthropists from the United Kingdom and Dubai. But from Ashalaja to other communities, the water drilled was salty, and so I have engaged the Water Works Director and have taken steps in addressing the challenge.’’
