Head Coach of Dreams FC, Karim Zito, has posited that the Premier League season has become extremely difficult to predict.
He stated that compared to the previous season, when it was easier to predict those who would be heading to relegation and those that were likely to win, this year’s season is difficult to predict.
Speaking on Rainbow Sports, he said, ”This year’s league is difficult compared to the last season. It was easier to predict the teams for relegation last season. But this season is difficult to predict”.
Coach Zito asserted that several of the teams are doing their best with the hope of winning, ‘’and so you cannot predict easily who will win’’.
He mentioned Nations FC, Kotoko, and Gold Stars as some of the teams that stand the chance of winning.
He said, ”With the current standing on the league table, with a little mistake, you could be in trouble.’ So it tells you that from last year till this year, almost all the teams have taken things seriously, most especially the younger ones. Dreams FC has set the pace, showing that with a place in the African league, you can achieve something. Playing in the African league is an exciting experience, and that has encouraged a lot of teams to do much better. That has made the league more competitive and intensive. Those who want to win the league are struggling to win, while those that want to escape relegation are trying their best, with those in the middle also doing their best not to fall further on the league table”.
When asked if his side is likely to achieve its objective by the end of the season, he said, ’I think we should make peace with reality. Football is about consistency. Football is about quality, and don’t play with just any kind of player.
He said that ”despite the challenge of some of his players moving on to pursue other opportunities, he touted his achievement, indicating he would applaud himself “because we are using qualified and talented players from Division 1 and Division 2. When I look at our performance, I can confidently state that we will not be relegated. We will stay in the league even if we don’t win. The team has done so well, and I am proud of them.
Whether we are eighth or ninth on the league table, we are not done with the season. We have about seven matches, and so I would like to strategise for the team, but what I can assure you is that we will not be relegated.’’
