The Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has underscored the need for the Ghanaian youth to be supported and given opportunities regardless of their political affiliation.
The Effutu MP posited that it was important to depoliticise entrepreneurship, stating that it should neither be viewed through a political lens nor stifled by political actors.
He was speaking at the second edition of the 2025 Kwahu Business Forum in the Kwahu South District, on April 19, 2025.
He called for the empowerment of local businesses, declaring that “when we empower local businesses, we don’t just boost productivity — we create opportunities and open doors to jobs.”
He called for support for entrepreneurs regardless of their political affiliations.
Afenyo-Markin further advised entrepreneurs to invest boldly in their dreams.
The forum was attended by President John Dramani Mahama and senior politicians, appointees of the government and other important dignitaries.
It was under the theme “The Future of Business: The Role of the Financial Sector”.
The forum forms part of the government’s broader agenda to stimulate private sector development through enterprise-driven solutions.
