Premier League club Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC has appointed Abdul Karim Zito as interim head coach and technical director.
The former player and coach has been tasked with bringing stability and direction as the club sacked its previous coach, Prof. Nartey Ogum.
Karim Zito coached Dreams FC to a historic CAF Confederation Cup semi-final and also led Ghana’s U-20 team to the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations title.
He would be joined by Prince Yaw Owusu, who takes up the role of assistant coach.
The assistant coach has worked in Sudan and the United States.
In Ghana, he coached Medeama SC, Inter Allies, and the Ghana U-20 and U-17 national teams.
He is widely recognised for his work in nurturing talents who have progressed to top European clubs like AC Milan, Genoa, Sassuolo, and Fiorentina.
Asante Kotoko has also appointed former technical director Malik Jabir as the technical advisor.
He is expected to offer high-level guidance to support the club’s long-term vision.
The team explained the new appointments are part of its renewed commitment to building a strong, forward-thinking technical team towards victory.
