Member of the National Executive of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, has stated the National Executive has not opened nominations for the contest of the party’s presidential primary.
He has therefore advised party members to respect the structures of the elephant family and desist from any form of activity that goes contrary to the party.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he posited that until the process is officially announced, party members should desist from campaigning for the topmost position.
”First and foremost, I serve on the party’s National Executive Committee. The National Executive of the party has not opened nominations, so if you respect the party and abide by the rules and regulations, you will not engage in activities that go contrary to the structures of the NPP,’’ he told host Kwabena Agyapong.
He was responding to a question about his thoughts on some people’s recent commentary and clamouring for the flagbearer position.
Mr. Agyepong maintained that the primaries had not yet begun, so party members should be guided and avoid violating NPP laws and regulations.
