Novinyo and Mawunyo, two young sisters, were discovered dead while on their way to their family farm in Brewaniase, an Oti Region farming community.
The unfortunate incident has left parents, family, and residents in shock.
Madam Mawusi, the mother of the deceased children, disclosed to the media that she sent them to the farm around 8 am to check on their crops.
When they failed to return home by nightfall, their brother was asked to look for them.
The brother discovered the belongings of his sisters near the farm and immediately alerted their mother.
A search party was quickly organised, and the girls’ lifeless bodies were found with signs of head trauma and broken bones.
The family and residents are demanding an immediate action from the police so that those behind the killing of the two sisters would be found and prosecuted.
The police and crime officers arrived on the scene, collected the bodies, and began an investigation into the murders.
Traditional leaders in the area have promised to help the police investigate the incident and bring the offenders to justice.
