Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is capable of serving as President of Ghana, but he is no longer marketable, according to Nana Bonsu, a member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) communication team.
He asserted that those who are pushing the agenda to present him for the 2028 elections ought to stop because he will lose again.
Nana Bosu said the 2024 general elections proved that the former Vice President is not a candidate the Ghanaian voters want.
He has therefore proposed that the party settle on Bryan Acheampong because he is more marketable and will easily win the 2028 general elections for the elephant family.
‘’I want to state here and now that if the NPP can win the 2028 elections, then we have set aside the Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong factor. The person I know that can win the 2028 general elections for the NPP is Bryan Acheampong. He is a solid candidate and has no skeletons in his cupboard. He is incorruptible. He has sacrificed a lot for the party,” he said in an interview on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM.
He told host Kwabena Agyapong that the Abetifi Member of Parliament is an industrialist who is credible and trustworthy enough to lead the party to victory in 2028.
Nana Bonsu said the followers of the former vice and Kennedy Agyapong have started attacking each other, a situation he believes is affecting the image of the NPP.
“We are seeking power, so we must file a candidate who can secure victory to represent us. The party should not send someone who is not marketable to represent us. In trading, you don’t sell items that are unmarketable,” he insisted.
Nana Bonsu also advocated for the removal of some national leaders due to their poor election performance.
