A mortuary attendant has been arrested by the personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service in Somanya in connection with a robbery at the Yilo Krobo District Hospital.
He is being interrogated in connection with the robbery that injured a revenue officer in the hospital’s Outpatient Department (OPD).
According to reports, he was present at the OPD during the robbery, which occurred around 2:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
He was apprehended after police visited the facility to begin investigating the attack.
The CID personnel first interacted with the victim of the attack, who was receiving medical care, before inspecting potential entry and exit points used by the suspected robbers.
Before arresting the mortuary attendant, the officers informed management of the hospital.
Details emerging also show that the mortuary attendant was not supposed to be on duty on the day of the incident.
