A wanted man, Joseph Tetteh, has allegedly inflicted severe cutlass wounds on his neighbour, Moses, at Porpornya in the Upper Manya Krobo District.
The suspect, who is believed to have been under the influence of multiple drugs during the attack, left the victim with a deep cut to his hand.
Moses is currently receiving treatment at St Joseph’s Hospital in Koforidua.
Tetteh had already been on the police wanted list for several months prior to the incident.
He had previously been arrested for stealing Moses’s motorbike but subsequently escaped from police custody. Following this latest attack, local youths apprehended the suspect and brought him to the Asesewa police headquarters.
Spme residents claimed that Tetteh had been actively evading law enforcement and hiding in the area, noting that he has been linked to numerous violent incidents.
The suspect is now back in custody and is assisting the police with their enquiries.
ACP Benjamin Braxton of the Asesewa police command has also spoken to Nyankonton Mu Nsem regarding the ongoing investigation.
