Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MILLS Institute (Mindset, Integrity, Loyalty, Leadership & Service Institute), Koku Anyidoho has proposed the integration of theology and ethical leadership into the curriculum of basic schools across Ghana.
According to the theologian who worked as late President Atta Mills’ Director of Communication at the presidency, instilling a strong sense of spirituality and moral values in young people is essential for national development and the fight against social vices.
Mr Anyidoho, who is also an author and a renowned communication specialist, explained that he urged educational authorities and faith-based institutions to prioritise character formation alongside academic excellence.
Mr Anyidoho made the call during the 69th SRC Week celebration of the Trinity Theological Seminary in Accra.
“The role of faith-based leadership in national development and youth empowerment cannot be overemphasised,” he said. “We need leaders who are guided by integrity, compassion, and a clear moral compass. That is how we can secure a sustainable and prosperous future.”
Mr Anyidoho, whose MILLS Institute promotes youth development and patriotism, civic engagement, urged young leaders to rise above self-interest and embrace a vision-driven style of leadership that serves the greater good.
He believes this was crucial in fostering real transformation in Ghana’s socio-political and economic landscape.
The Chairperson of Trinity Theological Seminary’s event, John Ameyaw, reaffirmed the seminary’s commitment to producing leaders grounded in ethics and integrity, extending their influence beyond the pulpit to positively impact society.
In attendance at the event were theologians, students, and thought leaders.
