Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare gifted a Hyundai Elantra vehicle to businessman and philanthropist Alhaji Seidu Agongo.
The donation from the businessman follows a viral video showing the national star using public transport.
The businessman is said to have donated the vehicle to the keeper to honour what he described as a rare display of humility and patriotism.
Benjamin Asare was presented with the car on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, during a brief handover ceremony in Accra.
Representing the businessman, Mugabe Maase pointed out that Mr Agongo was touched by the viral video and decided to extend a hand to the player.
He encouraged him to make good use of the car.
The player, in his remarks, said, “This is beyond my wildest dreams,” he said. “I take the trotro not because I want sympathy but because I believe in living simply. Mr Agongo’s kindness has overwhelmed me, and I promise to honour this gift by continuing to give my best for Ghana.”
