The United States (US) Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Virginia Palmer, has donated 14 Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) on behalf of the US government to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

The donation ceremony was held at the 153 Armoured Regiment, Abuga Square in Burma Camp.

Speaking at the ceremony, Her Excellency Palmer underscored the importance of safeguarding Ghana’s northern border, given the evolving security challenges in the region.

She reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to supporting Ghana in enhancing its defence capabilities through sustained partnerships, capacity-building initiatives, and the provision of critical resources.


On his part, the Minister for Defence, Honourable Dr Edward Omane Boamah, expressed profound gratitude to the United States Government and its citizens for their generous support in promoting regional and global peace.
He reiterated Ghana’s commitment to maintaining the donated vehicles.
