President John Mahama has appointed Mensah Thompson, Executive Director of the Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA), as the new Acting Deputy Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Mensah Thompson will serve under James Klutse Avedzi, the Acting Director-General of the SEC, who assumed the role after replacing Rev. Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh.
He is an economic and environmental sustainability expert and human rights and anti-corruption researcher.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (‘the Commission’) is established by the Securities Industry Act, 2016 (Act 929) (‘the Act’) with the object to regulate and promote the growth and development of an efficient, fair and transparent securities market in which investors and the integrity of the market are protected.
