Attack on Naa Koryoo in the media is unhealthy and anti-party behaviour – Aide

Special aide to Hon. Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Nana Bamfo, has shot down allegations levelled against the lawmaker by some aggrieved members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The aggrieved party members, led by Deputy Communications Officer Kobby Wilson, accused the MP of sidelining them and taking decisions with her husband.

According to them, the NP has refused to consult them on any issue and is rather seeking advice from her husband.

They warned her that they voted for the MP and not her husband, hence the need for her to tread cautiously.

But reacting to these concerns, the special aide refuted the assertions, insisting that the MP has not ignored or sidelined party executives or party leadership in the constituency.

He opined that the party has laid down rules and regulations, and if party members have concerns, they have a responsibility to submit them to the party and have them addressed.

” So it’s shocking that these party leaders, who should know better, have decided to address their concerns through the media while also making disturbing and alarming remarks about the MP. I’m curious why they keep making these comments about her. I wonder what we will do for our campaigns in 2028, and how we will persuade constituents to support our candidate.

The first point is that the forum in which they are airing their grievances is inappropriate. They are responsible for filing their concerns with the regional office, and if they are dissatisfied, they can go to the national office to report, and if all other options fail, they can use other means. I’m also surprised they’ve dragged the MP’s husband into it. The truth is that some of them had issues with the MP prior to the election. I keep wondering who they will blame next, after the husband.

He also revealed that the aggrieved party supporters are outraged over some appointments made that they expected to come from their circles, but they have failed to recognise that the MP has no authority in terms of appointments; she can only recommend, just like other officials.”
