The Management of Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) has issued a stern reminder to defaulting loan customers to settle their outstanding balances immediately, warning that failure to do so will result in legal action.
In an interview with the media in Techiman, Benjamin Amoah, Bono East Regional Manager of MASLOC, stated that the organisation is implementing measures to ensure all loan beneficiaries repay their loans, regardless of who facilitated the loan.
He emphasised that a nationwide loan recovery campaign will be undertaken to sustain the financial assistance programme.
Mr Amoah reiterated that MASLOC is currently utilising various methods, including litigation, to recover outstanding loans.
He cautioned defaulters to voluntarily settle their debts, as the organisation will commence prosecutions in court two weeks following this notice.
“We urge loan beneficiaries to settle their debts, enabling others to access these funds. Regardless of the governing party, loan recipients have a responsibility to repay. As a social intervention initiative available to all eligible Ghanaians, MASLOC requires beneficiaries to repay their loans, ensuring the funds revolve and benefit others.
Our loan disbursement and recovery processes are impartial, unaffected by political affiliations. Eligible individuals and small businesses can visit our offices nationwide with a Ghana Card to apply for financial assistance. We encourage the public to view our loan recovery campaign as a necessary financial exercise rather than a partisan pursuit or as a political ‘witch-hunting’,” he added.
