The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has launched its 53rd branch at the Forecourt of Rowi Building in Adenta, in line with its strategic plan to increase accessibility to its services.
The branch was officially commissioned on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. At the opening ceremony, SSNIT Director-General, Mr. Kwesi Afreh Biney, stated that this milestone underscores the organisation’s commitment to enhancing service delivery and accessibility for its clients.
He emphasised that the Adenta branch will offer an array of services, including registration, contribution collection, benefits processing, customer support, and advisory services.
Mr. Biney noted that SSNIT’s physical presence in Adenta aims to cater to the evolving needs of workers and reinforce its dedication to quality service delivery.
He highlighted SSNIT’s hybrid approach, combining physical branches with digital platforms, to ensure members can access services conveniently.
The Director-General expressed optimism that the new branch will alleviate pressure on nearby offices, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer service.
He assured the Ghanaian public that SSNIT will continue to expand its branch network while driving digital innovation to boost member confidence.
In line with this strategy, SSNIT plans to launch a virtual branch in the third quarter of this year, enabling 24-hour engagement.
Mr. Biney also revealed ongoing discussions with three banks to leverage their branch networks, potentially adding 25 to 50 touch points by year-end.
“There are banks in almost every district in the country, and we’ve decided that to bring convenience to our members at the least cost to serve, it was important to leverage on partnerships, and in so doing, our aim is to scale up quickly with an additional 25 to 50 touch points before the end of this year leveraging on these partnerships.”
Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA), Victor Asuma Mejida, commended SSNIT for the new branch, citing it as a step towards enhancing effectiveness and accessibility in Ghana’s pension sector.
He emphasised the need for SSNIT to build trust through modernisation, decentralisation, and infrastructure development.
According to him, the NPRA and SSNIT have a collective duty to ensure all workers in Ghana retire in dignity and with income security.
He said the mandate of the NPRA is the effective regulation and monitoring of the three pension schemes to secure retirement income for all workers in Ghana.
He views the new branch as a symbol of growth and progress, embodying a shared vision of serving all National Pension Scheme contributors with excellence. He urged staff to model professionalism, empathy, and service excellence across the SSNIT network.
Adenta Member of Parliament, Mohammed Abu Ramadan, praised SSNIT for the new branch, stating it aligns with the current administration’s agenda of inclusivity and excellence, and urged the branch to provide efficient services.
He indicated that by expanding access, SSNIT has demonstrated its commitment to reinforcing its role as a people-centred institution.
