Deputy Education Minister Dr Clement Apaak has commended President John Dramani Mahama for slamming United States President Donald Trump over the recent outburst against South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Dr Apaak, who represents Builsa South constituents, opined that the Ghanaian leader has done well in calling out Mr Trump for concocting lies against South Africa.
Ghana’s president has, in a latest opinion piece, argued that Trump’s claims of white genocide in South Africa conflict with the actual racial persecution and massacres during colonisation and apartheid.
He declared in his opinion that language can extend the effects of previous injustices, and silence is no longer an option.
He also believes African nations are interconnected and their fates are linked, adding that the idea of white genocide is unfounded and real genocides are happening globally, demanding attention and action.
In reaction to the piece penned by President Mahama, Dr Apaak condemned the US President for his attacks on the South African leader.
He stated that the US president owes Cyril Ramaphosa an apology for the unjustified attacks.
In a post on Facebook, Dr Apaak wrote, “I’m very proud of Prez Mahama for calling out Prez Trump. Trump’s attack on Prez Ramaphosa was based on concocted lies. Trump owes Ramaphosa an apology for the unjustifie”d. attack.
