The University of Ghana has described as forged a document which circulated on social media claiming that the current Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) forged his degree.

Social media platforms were flooded with the aforementioned document, purportedly signed by Registrar Emelia Agyei-Mensah, in response to an inquiry regarding the validity of the YEA CEO’s certificate.

The document, subsequently revealed to be forged, stated that Malik Basintella had not fulfilled the necessary requirements for degree conferral by the institution.

“The said letter is a forgery, and neither the Registrar nor any other officer of the university has received, processed or responded to any such request.

The public is hereby urged to disregard the said letter,” it said.
