The Ghana Nurses and Midwives Association of Ghana (GRNMA) has suspended its ongoing strike action.

The decision to suspend the strike action comes after a meeting it held with the parliamentary select committee on health.

A statement issued by the GRNMA disclosed that the meeting, which also saw other interested parties, was fruitful; hence, it has suspended the strike.

The move the GRNMA noted is to pave the way for an amicable resolution of the ongoing impasse pending the outcome of a follow-up meeting scheduled for June 26, 2025.

GRNMA has therefore admonished members to resume normal shift duties from Saturday, June 14, 2025.

“In view of point 1 above, the GRNMA ‘s industrial action initiated on 2nd June 2025 is
hereby SUSPENDED pending the outcome of the follow-up meeting scheduled for 26th
June, 2025.

We call on our dear nurses and midwives to resume their normal shift duties from SATURDAY, 14th June, 2025 and assure you that we will not rest on our oars until the Collective Agreement is fully implemented.”
