Former Ghana Ambassador to Germany, Her Excellency Akua Sena Dansua, has called on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to empower younger generations to assume leadership roles from the party’s founding members.
Speaking at the United Cadres Front anniversary, Dansua stressed recognising the sacrifices of the party’s pioneers.
She advocated for decentralising party activities to district and regional levels to foster grassroots inclusion.
Madam Dansua suggested sponsoring initiatives that support younger generations in carrying forward the party’s legacy.
The former Ambassador emphasised supporting party pioneers who have significantly contributed to the party’s growth, highlighting their need for assistance with medication and financial support.
On his part, the Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, proposed the establishment of a Hero’s Fund to provide support to party members who have made sacrifices for the party.
The politician noted the challenges faced by families of party members who have lost their lives in the line of duty. “If we have a Hero’s Fund, we can do many things to help with the medical care of our comrades who have struggled for the party and also support the children of those who have fallen,” he said.
The NDC Chairman believes that the Hero’s Fund would be a powerful way to grow the party by making it more appealing to members and their families. He noted that if the children of party members who have made sacrifices are not supported, they may grow up with negative perceptions about the party.
