Deputy Director of Protocol for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Frimpong, has admonished supporters of all flagbearer hopefuls, aspiring party executives, and other internal election candidates to eschew all forms of vilification against each other and focus on campaigning on the competence and vision of their preferred candidates in the lead-up to the party’s internal elections.
He made the appeal while addressing members of the NPP-UK North London Chapter.
According to him, it was important for the aspirants and their followers to engage in an issues-driven campaign atmosphere. He cautioned that divisive tactics such as personal attacks and insults could severely damage the party’s internal cohesion and harm its prospects ahead of the 2028 general elections.
“The unity of the party after these internal contests will be critical to our success in 2028,” Frimpong stated. “If campaigns are based on insults and personal vendettas, it will be difficult for those who lose to join hands with those who win, and that puts our collective goal at risk.”
“Let us all promote campaigns grounded in competence and a shared vision for the party. This is how we can build a strong and united front,” he added.
