Newly appointed NADMO Director for Kwahu Afram Plains North (Donkorkrom District), Eric Aziaklo, has confirmed that he was frustrated and intimidated by some party supporters, which prevented him from officially assuming his duties.
Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he revealed that he received his appointment letter from the national headquarters and reported to the office on June 9, 2025.
However, upon arrival, a man identified as Mr. Kara instructed him to vacate the office and later summoned a group of young men who forcibly drove him and his two deputies away.
Sensing danger, they left and returned the following day, only to be chased out again by Mr. Kara. This prompted them to report the incident to the police.
According to Eric Aziaklo, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area was unavailable during these events. He was advised to return on June 23, 2025, when the DCE was expected to be back from official duties.
Upon his return, he found that the DCE was still absent but was later informed that the DCE had instructed him to send his appointment letter to the regional office for confirmation.
While en route, a mob wielding cutlasses and other offensive weapons stormed the premises, locked the NADMO office, and claimed it was on orders from above to deny them access.
Eric Aziaklo further narrated that during the incident, the DCE, Kate Mawusi Baba, was confronted about the issue.
The DCE allegedly told him that the office had been locked by Senyo Adinkra, who had earlier been promised the position of NADMO Director for the District.
The office remains locked, and NADMO officials still do not have access to work.
He added that he has officially reported the matter to the NADMO headquarters and is awaiting a final resolution.
“I lobbied for this position and have finally been appointed, but I had no idea there was any dispute over it. If the DCE had not told me that Senyo had been promised the job, I wouldn’t have known. We are one family, and if there’s a challenge, we should address it. There is no need to lock the office or engage in unlawful activities. I have also informed the regional NADMO Director, who told me the matter is being addressed.”
