The final rites for Madam Mary Adwoa Nyamaa, mother of the renowned Ghanaian and African musician Maestro Kojo Antwi, are set for Saturday, July 12, 2025, when her mortal remains will be interred.
Madam Nyamaa, who was 100 years old, passed away on November 13, 2024, at the Mpraeso General Hospital in the Eastern Region.
The final funeral rites will take place at the Presbyterian School in Obo-Kwahu, also in the Eastern Region.

The ceremony will include musical tributes, celebrating the life of Madam Mary Adwoa Nyamaa, a devout Christian and cherished matriarch.
Maestro Kojo Antwi has often spoken about his late mother being the direct inspiration behind his iconic song, “Bre Bre Anowaa,” featured on his 1996 release, the “To Mother Africa Album.” With 13 albums to his name, “Bre Bre Anowaa” remains one of his most successful tracks across Ghana and Africa.

Affectionately known as “Mr. Music Man,” Kojo Antwi is the fourth of Madam Mary Adwoa Nyamaa’s nine children.
Six of her children are still alive, while three have sadly passed away.
