The Suntreso District Police Command has apprehended two suspected armed robbers in connection with a robbery incident that transpired at Alignment, a suburb of Kwadaso Estate in the Ashanti Region.
The two suspects have been identified as 22-year-old Issah Abdul and 20-year-old Abdul Rahman.
They have been accused of attacking their victim and absconding with a handbag containing a Samsung smartphone valued at GH¢2,000 and other personal belongings.
A statement issued by the police disclosed that the two suspects were armed with a machete and were riding an unregistered blue motorbike during the incident.
According to the police, one of the suspects inadvertently dropped his Samsung mobile phone at the crime scene.
The victim later retrieved the phone and submitted it to the police as evidence. It was through the phone that the two suspects were arrested at Sofoline.
During a search, police retrieved five mobile phones and GH¢1,690 from them.
The police added that the suspects have admitted to the crime and led officers to where they had hidden the machete used in the attack.
The two are currently in police custody and assisting with ongoing investigations.
