Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has expressed concern that he has been neglected by the leadership of the New Patriotic Party.
He made these remarks in a conversation with Abetifi MP and flagbearer hopeful Bryan Acheampong.
According to him, he fails to understand why, as someone who brought the NPP into office for two terms, he would be ignored on sensitive party matters and decisions.
Mr. Kufuor recounted the NPP’s journey from its ideological roots in the United Gold Coast Convention through decades of political adversity.
He stated that he was instrumental in helping the party secure the presidency, and despite his contributions, he has been neglected. I’ve been quiet, but make no mistake, I’ve been watching closely.
The least the party can do is keep me informed. Let me hear what’s happening. If there are elders in this party, I am surely one. He declared, stressing that age must not become an excuse for sidelining wisdom and experience.
