The Accra Regional Police Command has provided an update regarding the violent incidents and assaults recorded during the Ablekuma North parliamentary re-run election on Friday, July 11, 2025.

The service in a statement issued on Thursday, July 17, 2025, stated it has received, reviewed and analysed several videos captured at polling stations to identify all individuals involved.

According to the police, it has received statements from complainants and witnesses to aid ongoing investigations.

It assured the Ghanaian public that arrests will be effected soon.

The statement further revealed that victims involved in the incidents have been issued with Police Medical Report Forms.

Additionally, a police officer captured in one of the videos, who was interdicted for assaulting a journalist, has been held for criminal charges.

The Accra Regional Police Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring all persons responsible for acts of violence, intimidation, or misconduct during the elections are held accountable under the law.

Meanwhile, the police have asked the public to share credible information that helps them in their ongoing investigation by contacting emergency numbers 18555 or 191.
