The Western Central Regional Police Command has apprehended the Assembly Member for the Tarkwa Bremang Electoral Area, Isaac Duku, also known as Agoogi, for engaging in illegal mining and unlawfully diverting a public road onto his private property.
The suspect was apprehended on July 19, 2025, at Dortaso near Tarkwa.
He was arrested following a report lodged by residents at the Bawdie Police Station on July 14, 2025, indicating that the suspect had diverted the main community access road without authorisation and was conducting illicit mining operations on the diverted stretch.
The suspect is currently assisting investigations, the police said in a statement.
