“The Cosby Show” star Malcolm-Jamal Warner has died at the age of 54.
Details indicate that the actor was in Costa Rica on a family vacation and drowned while swimming.
He drowned near Cocles, a beach in Limon, Costa Rica. Malcolm-Jamal Warner was caught by a high current in the water and was found Sunday afternoon.
The police have confirmed that the cause of death was due to asphyxia. The late actor was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in 1986 for his supporting work on “The Cosby Show.”
Warner won the best traditional R&B performance in 2015 for the song “Jesus Children.”
He was also nominated for a Grammy in 2023 for the best spoken word poetry album.
