He said the Godly has made significant gains since it was established.
Delivering the mid-year budget review on Thursday, July 14, 2025, he said the establishment of the Gold Board was established to accumulate foreign exchange to support the stability of the Ghana cedi.
The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) is the sole authority with exclusive rights to buy, sell, weigh, grade, assay, value, and export gold and other precious minerals in Ghana.
The Board remains committed to becoming a world-class gold trading organisation, promoting sustainability, traceability, and value addition for economic transformation in line with the Ghana Gold Board Act (ACT 1140), 2025.
The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) is a body corporate established by an Act of Parliament (ACT 1140) in the year 2025 to oversee, regulate, and undertake the buying, selling, assaying, refining, exporting, and other related activities in respect of gold and other precious minerals in Ghana.
The GoldBod, per section 78 of ACT 1140, took over the rights, obligations, assets, liabilities, and workforce of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC) Limited, which is an offshoot of the Ghana Diamond Marketing Board.
Dr. Forson stated that the government has also restored coordination between the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Ghana to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to economic policymaking across all relevant institutions.
According to him, the government has also made significant progress, with clear signs of recovery that are obvious, evident, noticeable, visible, tangible, and being felt.
