The traditional ruler highlighted that social security’s journey in Ghana has been marked by vision, resilience, transformation, and a deep commitment to social protection. He emphasised that SSNIT is evolving into a modern, forward-looking, and customer-centric organisation.

The focus, he noted, is on delivering quality service to members while securing higher returns on investments.

Nana Ansah Sasraku III revealed that SSNIT has built a substantial portfolio, with current assets exceeding GHC 20 billion. He reiterated the trust’s dedication to improving this portfolio for maximised returns.

He also proudly stated that over 257,000 pensioners receive their monthly pensions from SSNIT on time and without default. He urged all stakeholders to support SSNIT in preserving the scheme for future generations.

Addressing SSNIT’s management and staff, the chairman encouraged them to continue striving for excellence and commended pensioners for their unwavering support. He concluded by appealing to the government to support SSNIT in its renewed vision, ensuring that every worker’s efforts today translate into financial security tomorrow.

He said, “I am proud of how far we have come, and I am confident that the progress we have made will serve as a solid foundation for even greater achievements in the years ahead… SSNIT is evolving into a modern, forward-looking, and customer-centric organisation focusing on delivering quality service for our members while securing higher investment returns.”

Just a few weeks ago, the Honourable Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, on behalf of the President, inaugurated a 12-member Board of Trustees for SSNIT. At that swearing-in ceremony, I made a commitment on behalf of my board that the board will provide responsible leadership—one that prioritises social protection for all workers. We also pledged to manage the trust’s resources with prudence, diligence, and foresight to safeguard the future of our contributors. I can confidently say that we remain fully committed to this pledge, and our actions continue to reflect this responsibility, especially as we work to preserve the legacy of service. Over the years, SSNIT has built a sizable portfolio. Our assets under management stand at over GHC20 billion. We are committed to better managing our investment portfolio to maximize returns. Today, over 257,000 receive their monthly pensions from SSNIT timely and consistently,” he added.
