Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has formally announced his candidacy for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primary.

The former General Secretary of the party launched his bid at a ceremony in Accra on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, coinciding with the party’s opening of nominations for the primary, which is scheduled for January 31, 2025.

Supported by party elders and a few supporters, Ing. Kwabena Agyepong emphasized the importance of party unity, combating corruption, and demonstrating party loyalty.

In his declaration, he highlighted his sacrifices for the party, noting that despite facing an unfair suspension, he remained loyal to the NPP.

He shared a personal anecdote about his father’s tragic death alongside two other judges, which, instead of demoralising him, strengthened his resolve.

Ing. Agyepong asserted that he possesses the integrity, character, and competence to represent the NPP.

As a civil engineer, he promised to transform the country, particularly urban areas. He touted his unblemished record, strong grassroots connections, and competence to win elections for the NPP.

Additionally, he pledged to accept the outcome of the elections and support the party’s chosen candidate.
